DSH in Essen - What is the DSH?
The DSH (German Language Examination for University Admission) is an examination that is used to test the knowledge of German of applicants from abroad. It is offered at universities. The language skills required for the course are checked in the exam. This includes:
- Listening comprehension
- Reading comprehension (including linguistic structures)
- Write
- and speaking
The exam is divided into two parts. At the beginning there is a written exam. After passing the oral exam.

Where can you take a DSH exam?
